Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Wow! Been a while again since I was here, and I do apologize for the schedule delays of posting here with my wordpress blog. I had the issue with having a new blog addy with my other blog. Then….I had an issue with my computer, and spent a whole weekend, and into the following week working with it. Still not completely where it was before, but it is working, and I can use it. I lost some things, found some things, and then lost them again. I am not computer literate, so that makes it even longer to get things done and understand them too.

WOW! Where has this month of June gone too? Seems like we just got started with it, and here we are at the end of it almost already too. Won’t be much longer, and it will be the 4th of July. Besides blog, and computer I have been trying to get pictures done again for listings in my shops that I would like to do. I have some things sitting out to repurpose too. Was hoping to do that tonight, but not sure if I will make it that far yet. I took pictures of about 5 different items, downloaded them, and now I have to get them all revised with sizes to work for my listings at the shops I have. I have been working on moving inventory into my Ecrater Shop including my repurposed items too. I still have things with Artfire. I am waiting on items to expire at Etsy, and will move those over to Ecrater too. I know some have not heard of Ecrater, and wonder if they are worth using for selling. They are free to list at, you only pay your fees with your payment services that you use, you are allowed up to 10 photos for each item, and when I check for some of my listings in the search engines….Ecrater is good about showing before some of the other shops I have.  So, for the site being all free I think that is pretty darn good. I still have items I will list at Ebay as well. That is because I am trying to change my inventory, and make room for more. Along with moving that has been planned for quite some time now as well. 

So, when you have a chance stop by to visit my shops. Any questions give me a holler. I can generally invoice you myself with Paypal, and Google Checkout or as it is becoming official now…Google Wallet. Just let me know if that is what you want, and your preference too.

New Blog Blogger Blogging Addy to Follow. Hello everyone, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Glad to have you visiting, and hope all are having a wonderful Tuesday as well.

Couple of weeks ago I ran into an issue that I thought was simple, but became harder to resolve than I thought it would. Not knowing for sure if things could be fixed, no definite answers, I did what I knew to do….start a new blog. I redirected my .com domain right away, and went to work building my blog again with all the pages, and then to try and notify everyone. At least trying to get the word out about the changes, and why the sudden urgency for all of it. Since that time things have been reinstated with the old blog, but I have the new blog too. Did some revising of things a bit, and applied a few more things I have learned along the way. So, I will keep the new blog addy, and have gone to the old blog and changed my URL addys that will bring you to my new blog, or maybe the new blog pages I have now too.

I am still selling with some of the same places, and it is only the blog addy that has changed at this time. So, that new addy to come visit me at is LilacsNDreams Blog OR you can use the .com by visiting LilacsNDreams. Another main page with my blog is LilacsNDreams Shoppe Blog OR  again use the .com for that by visiting LilacsNDreams Shoppe.

Vintage, Collectibles, Repurposed, Upcycled Weekend.

   Hello everyone, and thanks so much for visiting with LilacsNDreams! Always happy to see you, and glad you visited as well. Here it is our first Friday for May, and into the weekend we are going. Any big plans? Will you be relaxing, maybe thrifting, visiting some yard sales, or maybe have plans with the family/friends too. Whatever it is I hope that you all enjoy the weekend.

   No special plans really for me this weekend. Work on the yard…which we had some storms happen about halfway through me mowing. Bad enough for the sirens to go off. Got through that, and all is well again. Now, back to my plans. I was thinking of getting some painting done, at least getting done around the trim. Fill in a couple of cracks in the ceiling. Then…I was hoping to work on some listings for my stores. Downsizing my collections, and inventory. Making room for us to be moving in a few months I hope…if all goes well. Will sure packing a lot easier. It will also make room for me to go shopping again in a new area, new thrift stores, different yard sales, and some wonderful flea markets too. Getting excited for that! Then, I can also focus more with repurposing some items I keep looking at here, and getting a little bit more done in that area too.

   Whatever your plans may be this weekend I hope you enjoy them, have fun, and do all you wish to do. Hey, while doing your list of things….don’t forget to relax too! Vintage Collectibles Repurposed Upcycled Altered Handmade Homemade Treasures Offered at Artfire by Me … LilacsNDreams! Thrift Store, Yard Sale, Flea Market Junkie who loves to treasure hunt, and sometimes junking too! I enjoy finding old vintage collectibles that can be reused again for you. Sometimes some of the treasures found are not in such good shape, only 1 piece from a set, have been neglected, headed to the dumps, and etc. are things that I will rescue, and find a new life for them by repurposing, and upcycling them. I take joy in doing online sales, and have been doing them since 2004.

My main venue is with Artfire, and I also offer items at Ecrater and Etsy too. When not doing this I enjoy spending time with my Blog, and reading other blogs too. Changes to Main Blog and Blog Page

Hello, Good Morning, Afternoon, or whatever the time might be to you. Thanks for visiting with LilacsNDreams!

I had made some changes to my main LilacsNDreams Blog with one of my main pages that is called LilacsNDreams Shoppe. I added another domain to it, and then redirected the other one to my website. Busy, busy, busy. Always a working progress for everything…don’t you find this to be true too? When you have a chance click the links, and you shall go directly there to visit. While there make sure to see all my pages, leave comments, share something, of most of all….leave me a note saying Hi so that I may also come visit with you too.

You will also notice on the main page of my LilacsNDreams Blog that I show my links there for the market places I am selling with at Artfire, Ecrater, and Etsy too. I sell vintage, collectibles, repurposed, upcycled, reused, handmade, homemade, hand altered treasures. If you see something you like give me a holler. I can also bill you directly with an invoice from Paypal, and Google Checkout too. I have been working on some projects at home. Some items were painted from this fall, and I have been working to add some mod podge, a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. I have some more cupcake plates I am working with. 3 of them are matching, and lace is being added to them for a bit more character of the pieces. When I glue things it is a slow process as I like to let things settle each time I do something for more secure applications. Make sure to visit places I have mentioned to see what is now showing, and to watch for more items to come as I complete things, and add them to my inventory.

Happy New Year From LilacsNDreams! I know, a week later, sorry. Like many others working on that ‘catch’ up of all things after the holidays. WOW! We are already into the second week of the new year for 2012 already. Time just flies, right? Hope the Holidays were good to all of you, and I do wish everyone a prosperous year with achievements in all goals that you have set for yourselves.

Not only have we been busy with house improvements here…don’t know how we are living some days with this mess….but I have started to move some of my inventory to one of my stores as well too. For things vintage, collectibles, and gently used I offer those products at Ecarter. I have another store that I have added inventory to, and have more to add that is for items I have repurposed, upcycled, and altered. You will see some vintage pieces in this store as well which is at Artfire. I enjoy what I do, and it has been frustrating not being able to work with some projects I had scheduled for this winter due to contractors in, and out, moving furniture and things from upstairs to downstairs, and so on to make room. Crossing my fingers that soon it can be done, and I can settle down to work more.

Day Light Savings Time, Set Your Clocks Back an Hour.

Hello, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Glad to see you here, and happy you could visit with me. Just sharing a friendly reminder about the time, and setting your clocks tonight. So, before you go to bed, make sure you put them clocks back an hour. If not, you might have a rude awakening when you see how early you have gotten some where like church, meeting friends, your friendly brunch, work, and so on. Hey, doing this reminder for you helps me remember to do it too. I have 1 clock done, and about 3 more to go:)

Unfortunately, setting the clocks back also reminds us about it being Fall/Winter time too. Brrr! I hate the thought of snow. With the clocks going back an hour it will be getting darker out even much sooner than it has been now. Long dreary nights, and I am sooo looking forwared to spring already….LOL:) Anyway, hope this reminder helps some of you. Thanks again for visiting with LilacsNDreams, and hope to see you again. Google Plus, Facebook, Social Media Which One is For You

Google Plus, Facebook, Social Media Which One is For You?

Hello, and Welcome to LilacsNDreams! Glad to have you here, and happy that you stopped by to visit with me. Lot of buzz going on lately with the changes at Facebook, and also with the new Google Plus that has now opened to everyone. There are many Social Medias out there that all serve the needs, and interests of many. What you do with all of it is up to you, and what your goals are. Do you belong to facebook, and if so, how you are adjusting with the changes? Do you like them, and is facebook doing what you want it to do for you.

How about Google Plus? How many of you have signed up there, and how has that been going for you? Do you like it, and is it doing what you would like to see it doing so far. I know they are still not releasing the part of it for the businesses, and have you signing in with your personal names right now. Some have had the issue of being warned, and having their accounts removed if they tried to put in their business as they are not wanting it there yet.

Besides Google Plus, and Facebook do you have other Social Medias that you also belong to. What are they, and how have they benefited you with all that you do?

I do have an account at Facebook, and have had it for quite a while. I can’t even remember when I first signed up with them. Long time ago I remember. I had been enjoying my time with Facebook, have met many people there, have seen many things from others, have learned from others, and have felt it to be a good experience and found it beneficial to me as well. But, with the changes that have come out recently, and are still happening I am not quite sure yet. I have always had problems with glitches on facebook. Some small, some I have over come, and some have been quite aggravating too. Right now I feel like I have been missing out on posts that others have shared, and it just does not quite feel as comfortable as before. Changes I can handle, but I am still not sure with all of this at Facebook yet. I will keep my account there as there are many friends, and acquaintances that have been made. I guess I will see if it is still beneficial to me with the changes that have been made, and if it is still helping me in anyway.

I have had a Google Account for a long time, the profile, sharing my links to everything there, and all of that. Since Google Plus has come out I did get another profile done for me using my own name….THAT was a change right there! I have used my LilacsNDreams name for so long, and have come accustomed to answering to Lilacs that it feels really odd to see my name there. I know many do not know my name at all which will be an adjustment. But, my avatar does have my business name with it so that others can find me. For the time I have been using the new google plus I have enjoyed it really. Much cleaner pages, I do not feel like I am being spammed with everyone showing their items for sale. Some sellers I would receive 1/2 to a full page of them alone with listings they have done in their stores. I do like with all my friends that I can put them with different circles to how I am associated with them. It feels more organized that way. When I do post something I have the option of making it public, or maybe just sharing it with the groups in general it would pertain to. I have not really had that much of a problem learning things with this new google plus, and I am adjusting with it quite well.

As for other Social Medias I do belong to a few. Use to be much more, but I was not benefiting with them, and it would show with my google analytics who I was benefitting more with too. I belong to The Vintage Village which keeps growing. You can show pictures of things there you offer, the premium membership is not a bad price to pay for all the site does for you, they do have free accounts there too. I have met many through there, learned from others there, if I have a question I can freely ask it with many members who will offer their knowledge to help you out. The owner is a great person there too. A sister site to this is The Vintage Rising which is for those members who deal with items that are still vintage, but have altered vintage pieces they have made that they have in their homes, or offer them for sale as well. Then, there is Treasure Seekers Unite which Angie the owner is a great person too. The site is under maintenance right now, but is also a great place with different groups to be involved with, sharing things whether it is business or personal, etc. When you get a chance, stop by to visit the sites I have noted, and check them out. The more, the merrier it is when we can all come together to share, converse, learn, and strut our stuff with our products we have to offer.

Cottage Style Decorating For Your Homes by LilacsNDreams

Having the cottage style home is light, airy, fresh, fun, and original.  In today’s style they often incorporate soft palettes of greens, blues, yellows, shades of lilacs, and pinks too. Sometimes you may show things brightened with some brisk colors used as well. Using pastels for color, some pretty florals, and with some vintage home accessories gives your home that cozy cottage style.

Using lace handkerchiefs, some lace trims, fragrance candles, and those sweet smelling soaps, a comfortable rocking chair, wallpapers, fabrics are just so yummy in the home of cottage styles. Sometimes glassware will be used whether it is clear, or a slight coloring that sparkles in the light will be displayed. Visual some of those furniture slip covers that are inviting, some vintage style upholstery, and of course the layers of weathered paint. Gotta love that chippy paint.

A cottage style decorating can surface anywhere. Attitude is also what can make the house cottage. Depending on the house locatetion I sometimes have seen seaside, shells, and sailboats incorporated with the decor too.

Today’s expressions of cottage style is the thought of flea markets, using fresh flowers, vintage patterns, and a bit of romance with it too.  A warm welcoming feeling to all who visit. 

I love cottage style homes, and wish I had all that with our home.  A working progress. I admire the style when I see it in books, and by many who share their homes with all of us. Which style of home are you?
